Sometimes the quickest way to undo a modification or update is through System Restore. Then there are the times you can’t get to the Windows interface to run it. What do you do then?

If you can get to the command prompt you can run system restore with the following commands like seen in the image below:

  • Drop to a command prompt by doing a run (Windows Key – R)
  • Type CMD to get your command prompt.
  • Get to c:\windows\system32\restore anyway you like
  • and finally launch RSTRUI.exe and you should get the System Restore Wizard.

Boo-Yah!
